The mission of our Company is to provide the services of safe, prompt and attentive passenger transportation and service to Vilnius residents and guests of the capital. Taking into account the needs and preferences of the passengers we promote the progress of the company and its employees. UAB „Vilniaus viešasis transportas” staff aims to be one of the leaders between the companies transporting the passengers by the routes of Vilnius city.

The main activity of the company is a passenger transportation on fixed routes. Currently there are 76 buses and 18 trolleybus routes in Vilnius. The length of bus routes is 1676 km and the length of trolleybus routes – 513,3 km. On weekdays 323 buses and 185 trolleybuses head to the streets of the city to transport the passengers and on weekends it is performed by 197 buses and 106 trolleybuses. The buses transport about 298 thousands and trolleybuses - around 200 thousand passengers every day. The buses start to move at 5:30 AM and finish work at 11.30 PM. The first trolleybus on weekdays departs at 4:25 AM ant the last of them returns at 00:12 AM. On Saturdays, the first of them departs at 4:31 AM, on Sundays and holidays departs at 5:37 AM, the last of them returns at 00:12 AM.

While implementing the key operational tasks, the company‘s staff performs the following functions:

• Organizes the traffic of public transport by provided routes in accordance with the traffic timetables;
• Adjusts, corrects and changes the routes of buses and trolleybuses (when the streets and bridges are being repaired or reconstructed and other traffic obstacles preventing the traffic of buses and trolleybuses are being removed);
• Carries out the permanent traffic control of buses and trolleybuses thanks to installed computerized traffic control system that operates through the channels of mobile network;
• Inspects and controls the work of the drivers (whether the passengers are transported safely and comfortably, the names of bus stops are announced accurately and timely and the traffic safety requirements are complied with);
• Organizes the training events and apprenticeship courses for the drivers of buses and trolleybuses;
• Performs the maintenance and repair works of vehicles;

Provides the services of advertising and rent.
